Arnside Knott
The Eastern slopes of Arnside Knott consist of a steep limestone scree. Apart from a few small Yews which have grown very little in 100 years, nothing else is able to grow there and rain water sinks straight into the fissures in the rock.
My circular walk this morning was 3.7 miles at 2.5 miles per hour according to my walking app. Weather conditions were perfect. Until the last quarter of a mile coming back into the village I met no one. I did pass 100 or so cows busy producing milk which goes to make delicious Lancashire cheese.
The extra is on the wall of Arnside Junior School. The rainbow colours have faded in the couple of weeks since they did it.
