The "new bed"

This bed now needs a new name, as it is no longer the newest bed in the garden.  W has finished digging out around the boulders, and has edged it.  We just need to back fill, and find some plants for it.

But weeding it was my project for today.  It's looking splendid at the moment, with some rather lovely multi-headed, and strongly scented, daffs (close up in extras).  There are also tulips - as featured yesterday.  The bench in the background fittingly features today - it belonged to dad, who would have been 90 today.

There are times as our garden matures when I think how much he would have loved to sit in it and watch the birds - but then only recently we commented how difficult he would have found these last few weeks - he would not have understood at all.
