Observations in time

Early morning visitor

We have a very busy male pheasant who seems to have 7 females in tow. They creep along to pick up the fallen bird food and are easily scared away. He seemed to get stuck in the undergrowth this morning and soon flew away squawking as he went.
I then took the dog out and came across our resident swan and watching heron in our wee local pond in the field behind our house-without camera unfortunately!
This afternoon was cracking so after cutting the grass and potting up some newly acquired plants we took the dog to the beach which was absolutley brilliant-a blessing indeed.
On returning home I heard that in addition to our dear friend dying yesterday, one of our ex colleagues died today. Both were inextricably linked to the hospice and really special people-who led lives of meaning and purpose and were as compassionate as you will find anywhere.

At nine o' clock this evening we lit a candle in their honour-a very special group of 8 of us who worked together at the hospice who are the best friends anyone could ever hope to have.
