Frozen iceberg on Jokulsarlon beach

On the south east coastline of Iceland lies this impressive iceberg beach. The bergs split off from larger pieces of glacier which float in the Jokulsarlon lagoon upstream. They are then deposited on the dark sands. After walking through what seemed to be hundreds of icebergs I came to a stretch of beach where the icebergs were larger and more sparse. This berg was particularly impressive in size and clarity and, although the sky looked cloudy and miserable, I waited patiently for the sun to set to capture this shot. This picture only begins to show what a truly magical place this is.
