Getting outside on a cold day

I have been going for the occasional birding bike with my birding buddies (we stay far apart from each other). Today was the day this week. Wow, was it cold and windy. I was not a happy camper for a good chunk of the morning. But there were compensations - a broody sky, a group of 9 black-crowned night herons, a robin incubating eggs. The usual joys of spring.

I forgot about the virus and the suffering of so many people for a while.
