Cross flower

Another walk looking for early purple orchids sometimes called the 'cross flower' (the leaves are said to be spotted with blood from Christ's crucifixion). Its been dull and cloudy for most of the day with limited butterfly action in the garden, just Holly Blue and Peacock seen today. Breaking news ...... plus a green-veined white as I'm writing this.
