The unforgiving minute...

Dirty Cash ...

"Many people take no care of their money until they come nearly to the end of it, and others do just the same with their time."
[Goethe]

Without getting all maudlin and moosie-faced, this was a particularly poignant quote for me just recently.

Anyway - aside from that - the reason why I have a little photoblip of some random cash on my floor is I have just emptied out my work bag, for the first time in a few months. I keep some travel cash in there, for the countries i'm at most often, along with my passport. I was happy to find some from ages ago, that I thought i'd lost. I plan to make a little art project out of it. I have some denomination note from every country i've ever been to.

The picture reminded me of a day last year in Zurich, at the christmas markets, and there was a little crystal angel I wanted to buy for Monkey, but I'd forgotten to pick up my purse, so just had the random bits of travel cash at the bottom of my bag. I ended up paying for the angel in a combination of Swiss Francs, dollars, euros, pounds and yen. The people in the queue behind me were quite entertained.
