Erythronium

Every year I find this lone plant in the garden and wish I had more. They're so beautiful and ephemeral; flowering now and disappearing altogether by June like an upside down tulip. Don't think it really likes my sandy garden soil but this autumn I'll try to remember to plant more.

Sorry this photo doesn't do the flowers justice. So grey and chilly outside, and so hard to see the flowers from below!
