Costumed Dancers

That what these look like to me.

We have a small Japanese Maple in the front garden. It can look as if is ailing in early Spring. The leaves emerge reluctantly, and erratically, so the whole thing can look sparse. But somehow, it gets there. Water helps.

The rising sun (appropriately, it is Japanese) was shining through the emerging translucent leaves early morning when I took this. Later the leaves will darken.

I prefer this early stage.
