Danger in those hills
Today we passed a landmark - 25 Megawatts electricity production from our PV panels on the house roof (see extra photo...graph) which has produced 71% of our own electricity needs since June 2017 and allowed us to feed in 9.7MWh. In total saving around 18 tons of CO².
Strange old weather. Yesterday snow which has covered the Alps again but my bees were busily flying today bringing in pollen, or at least that which they didn't drop at the front door. (see extra photo).
Well, it would be nice for skiing today but as we were to find out shortly, the unreliable winter this year has forced many to go the Dolomites in Northern Italy or higher parts of Austria such as Ischgl which is only 1.5 hours away. Many weeks later, Ischgl turned out to be a terrible source of Corona in Germany. Although they discovered they had a member of staff infected very early on in a popular hotel/bar, they continued trading for many days afterwards! It was here that a group of Icelanders were staying and caused such havoc when they flew home.
