"The Ditch"

This is the irrigation channel that snakes itself around Wenatchee and has allowed our Cherry & Apple orchardist to grow wonderful fruit. The irrigation was put in around 1904 in narrow benches along the Wenatchee and Columbia river to develop our apple empire.

We enjoy walking along the ditch and through the orchards. It is one place where my dog can be off leash as we only rarely run into others. Desi likes to go for a little swim too. This part of the irrigation channel is right behind my friend Nina's childhood home. Back in the day, the irrigation channel was constructed from timber and Nina would play in it and float it during the summer.
