Life on screen
The rain let up briefly just before 5pm and four of us performed 'Ode to Joy' in our street, joining the National Youth Orchestra and others around the world. The video will be uploaded to social media with the #NYOdetoJoy hashtag.
In Word, top right, the dedication that is illegibly sellotaped to my music stand: some of the people to whom we owe thanks and wish joy, when they finally get time for such things.
On another screen below is the web page for Folk Weekend Oxford - this weekend. Admire that topical logo! Rather than cancel the festival, FWO is live-streaming all the gigs that were programmed, and asking audiences to pay the same price for tickets as they would have paid for a live event so that the musicians still get paid. I approve. Lots of people won't pay, but many others around the country - or even world - will get the chance to hear the music without having to fork out for fares or accommodation, so I hope the numbers will be made up. If you enjoy folk music, check out the programme. There are some free gigs as well.
