No Longer Baffled
Well, it took a while but this squirrel figured out how to get around the baffle "protecting" the bird feeder. It was entertaining to watch him getting there. He shimmied down the rope to the big snow pile on top of the baffle (see yesterday's blip) and tilted it until the snow fell off. That scared him and he climbed back up a little way. Then he climbed down again and tilted the baffle and jumped onto the feeder. He almost missed and ended up hanging onto the bottom of the feeder but worked his way back to the top. My camera was nowhere to be seen so I grabbed my phone to get this shot. Then I knocked on the window and he leaped about 15 feet across to a lower branch and scampered to the ground and ran off. I felt a little sorry for him after all his work to get there. I think we need to put more space between the baffle and the feeder.
By this afternoon the only snow left was on the grass. It had melted off all the trees and the roads and everywhere that had been shoveled was already dry. At least spring snow disappears quickly!
I am grateful to PD for clearing the snow off the hot tub this morning so we could have a long soak. I love to be in it when it's cold outside. :-)
