A bit of a rant

The last few weeks I have been trying to not post political issues on blip foto but everyone and then changes are made to disability benefits which have a massive effect on people's lives.

Yes there may be a small percentage (less than 0.5%) of people on benefits who are fraudulent or genuine errors in claim but this recent bedroom tax is just insane!

So far were not going to be getting any help with my bedroom rent any more.. We're all ready classes as homeless because here is unsuitable. But because we're a husband and wife we 'should' sleep together and medical need for a separate bedroom is no longer a reason to get housing benefit for one.

I know of a lad who has medical equipment he has to use every day in one room of his house he will have to find the money to pay for that room as well .

I heard of an severely autistic child who shares a bedroom and has a bedroom set aside as a sensory room to help him and his family deal with his complex problems they will have to find the rent to pay for his 'spare room'

I also heard of a disabled mum of two with an adapted house. Including a Wheelchair lift The children still fit in the 'share the room' criteria.. So is the council going to re house and adapt a home for her to live in for three years whilst her children grow up?

These rooms aren't 'spare' my bedroom is used 24/7 I have only been as far as the landing in over 12 months ! This is an attack on the vulnerable and the disabled. People this government said it was protecting.

If you can do something about this.. People on benefit don't live in mansions they live in the most suitable house they can find at the time there looking. Private landlords are expensive and often don't do repairs there isn't affordable houses for people with disabilities to move into. We moved here because I could use my wheelchair downstairs and it was quiet. If the council had done the adaptions we asked them to we wouldn't have moved here. Now were still waiting for rehousing 6 months after being classed as 'homeless'

My blip is the chaos that's my bedside table tonight. No inspiration just hoping someone out there can do something to stop this government harming soo many people
