Not a sunflower
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. I had a haughty spirit when a couple of the sunflower seeds I planted as part of our family competition germinated. I thought I was well in the lead. But no more have appeared and the two that did germinate are pretty stunted. In one pot there grows this tiny mushroom. I haven't played about with the Olympus as much as I thought I might so I gave it my best shot this morning to record what's growing in my seed tray. It really is small and the camera picks up a lot of detail.
This morning we should have been sailing into Lerwick with our friend from Liverpool. We were all set for a few days in Shetland. Needless to say she is safely in her house as we are in ours. I made the mistake of looking at the weather forecast for Lerwick for the next few days. Not warm it has to be said but sunny. Curiously Cameraman and I were sailing into Lerwick on this day in 2017. A coincidence. Oh well, next year we all hope.
I'm about to have my regular Saturday coffee with friends in Wales and Edinburgh. This afternoon it's our grandson's virtual birthday party. We'll be joining from various locations and all supplying our own cake. Luckily I made some gingerbread earlier in the week and there is a smidgen left.
The sun is shining, the washing is on the line, I still have my daily walk to come and we feel well. All good.
