Food for Maija

I am trying to keep enough food for Maija, and also be willing to feed her whenever she asks for it.
Just the other night I was up very late and very tired. When Maija came and meowed for food, I turned away and went to bed, and didn't even look at her. I have never done that, and I could sense how hurt she was. When I woke up a couple of hours later, I went to the kitchen to have a snack myself, and I then put something on her plate, too. 
After a while I was glad to see her come when I called her. 
We ate together. We were friends again. And we went back to bed. :-)
