Canal, just to be different...

I enjoyed a really lovely walk with plenty of distancing and plenty of wild nature. 
I noticed that 'Lady's Smock' or Cuckoo Flower is now displaying it's resplendent lilac colouring. 
The female swan, is this a 'Pen?' is sitting on her nest. Unfortunately also in her nest is a black plastic bag, oh dear.
Whilst sitting at breakfast this morning I took beside me a little drawer in which for decades I've kept Safety pins. I thought to tidy them up by pinning them together by size. 
I did do this, but realised that no-one in this whole world would ever need as many as I possess. 
What on earth do I ever need with them. 
Granted, a few would come in handy in some situations, loose elastic in knickers was once the order of the day when I was a child. 
The thing is I don't even carry them in a handbag with me for emergencies. I'm going to rectify that and carry a few now. 
For some reason it's quite hard to part with them. Stupid.
