Lockdown Day 26 - On Safari

My youngest nephew and his wife are expecting their first baby in early May. This afternoon we were supposed to have a baby shower for them. As is happening all over the world, Zoom saved the day! It even enabled someone from the US to join us!

There was a safari theme to the shower. We were encouraged to bring Safari type animals to the party. These were mostly part of Dolly’s extensive ‘zoo’, although the monkey belonged to my mother. There’s even a park ranger in the group. Some of the participants were dressed up as if they were ‘on Safari’ or wore animal print clothing. My sister was wearing a ‘onesie’ which I think was a monkey. There was even some face painting.

We each gave a special message to the new mum and dad, had a quiz about Safari animals, and watched while they opened up gifts that we had mostly ordered online and had delivered to them before the party. I think it was a lot of fun and a big success. Making the most of these difficult times! What a challenging time to be having a baby!
