cake making IT auditor style.....

M has requested a chocolate cake for his birthday tomorrow, so instead of the usual Nigella chocolate fudge cake I decided to revisit this recipe, first trialed for a wedding, 9 years ago! It won the taste test hands down, and is absolutely delicious, fudge and moist, but substantial enough for a decent ganache. 

In order to scale up the quantities, I of course did a spreadsheet,  which I filed with the recipe, in my recipe binder, as well as keeping an electronic backup! 

So we now have a 6 inch chocolate cake, as well as left over sour cream and flour for birthday blini tomorrow.  As per the plan on the fridge.
