Red Admiral

I spent quite a bit of time stalking insects in the garden today and took quite a few pictures. This one is my favourite, with the striking Red Admiral butterfly against the pink Camellia flower. Due to their colouring, Red Admirals used to be associated with infernos and became known as the 'butterfly from hell'. This seems a bit harsh to me, as I think they're very beautiful.

So nice to have the good weather back here and, if the forecast is right, we should be in for a lovely week weather-wise. Lockdown is definitely easier to bear when the sun's shining.
