Signs of Spring

This is my favorite time of year, as the trees and shrubs in our yard wake up from winter. The emergence of new leaves on our Japanese maple trees is particularly enchanting, as seen in today's blip and the horizontal extra photo.

The other extra photo is of the tender new leaves on our lilac bush -- a more demure approach to spring.
