Pieris ‘Forest Flame’ is a shrub which provides a glorious burst of bright red new leaves in spring. They gradually mature to pink, cream and then green. It has been given the Award of Garden Merit (AGM) by the Royal Horticultural Society and  grows well in a sheltered, partially shaded spot in moist but well-drained, acidic soil. This specimen in my fromt garden is about 8 feet high.
