The Sun Goes Down.....

Dry again. A morning of the usual . Another spring calving cow calved since last night. She is an old pure limousin with a wee heifer calf. Wasn’t sure if it had sucked by this afternoon so got Littlemiss to give me a hand to walk them in. Put the cow into the cattle crush and milked some colostrum our her and bottle fed the calf. It only took about a litre then did a nice yellow sh.t so it must have had a sook already. Still better safe than sorry. Shut them in a pen and will keep an eye on them.
Went to fill the petrol cans tonight and get some messages from the co op. No bacon, no eggs, no bread so hardly worth going ! Thought panic buying was supposed to be finished .
Went next door for silage again tonight and Littlemiss took this photo of the sun going down behind the Pentland hills on our way home. Let her drive down the farm road again , she’s starting to get the hang of it now !
