Heron

Today's the day ……………………. to stare

There's been quite a strong, easterly wind blowing today - which made it feel quite chilly if you were out of the sun.

The wind was strong enough to blow a garden sunshade over, taking the table with it.  And down in the River Dee, the feathers on this heron were definitely getting ruffled.  It was probably quite hard to keep your balance on the rocky, boulder-strewn river bed, not that you could tell.  The heron was completely motionless, staring unblinkingly at who-knows-what.

Then came that quick stab - and a swallow - and then, back to the stare.  It was mesmerising ………………………..
