TINY TUESDAY
During these difficult times, I am really grateful that we have a lovely garden to enjoy - and it was good to sit out there in the sunshine having our mid-morning coffee.
I have made a collage and put it in as an extra and from the top and going round clockwise, is an orange wallflower, pink dicentra, a view of the garden, a multi-coloured wallflowers, cornflower and a tiny geum, with a selfie of us against our blue fence. Although it is very sunny, the wind is still quite chilly, so I didn’t stay out for too long.
Prior to that, I had joined up with Jo and Angela, two of the other “Girls About Town”, except we are now “Girls Not About Town” or as someone said, we are now “GNATs”! We had a Messenger video session, except that Angela’s camera wasn’t working, so we could only hear her eating her breakfast - but perhaps it was better we didn’t see her - she might still have been in her PJs!
I had decided that I would make the effort, as I normally do for the programme so brushed my hair and put some lippie on and it definitely made me feel better. I think we have probably all got used to slouching around in our joggers - and I apologise if you’re not like that - so this morning I decided to put on some "proper" clothes i.e. a decent top and jeans with a button and zip - because after I had been on the scales earlier, decided that I need to dress properly more often. An expanding waist on joggers covers a multitude of sins - and pounds - so I need to stop eating unhealthily and get back to a more sensible way of eating.
After our three-way interview, I went out into the garden to have a look round for something for Tiny Tuesday and came across this little insect on one of the hellebore flowers. We think it is probably some sort of fly, as Mr. HCB said he didn’t think bees had such long antennae, but I couldn’t see anything like it in our British Wildlife book - perhaps someone knows what it is and could let us know.
Mr. HCB is now working in the garden, cutting the edges of the lawn - I have asked him not to cut it too short, because I will miss the daisies, but he wants to cut it before the green bins go out again, and then says he won’t cut it for another month, so I guess I need to accept that and the insects will love him for being so kind!
“We might think we are
nurturing our garden,
but of course, it’s our garden
that is really nurturing us.”
