Happy Colour

Jade-green is one of my happiest colours. This little bird head  sits at the top of a tiny spoon in a little bowl and is a soapstone replica of what a Chinese scholar traditionally would have in jade on his desk. It's used to keep water in to dilute ground ink-stone for calligraphy. A dear keepsake of our family's visit to Beijing in the early 90s.
