One for you - one for me
Yesterday was a busy day physically. I am clearing out yet another bed that hasn’t been dug over for probably 19 years, using a pick axe!!
Once this is done, I can put some good compost in before I start planting it with all the veg that are growing on the windowsill.
Sadly I have run out of compost. So..... I asked a kind gentleman, Peter, who is still going to supermarkets and who is digging beds by the side of the road to plant veg as he doesn’t have a garden, if he would kindly get some for me the next time he was getting some for himself. I said I would make a Victoria sponge for his teenage boys as a thank you. ‘They wouldn’t eat it’, he said. ‘They are into healthy eating. However I would eat it, probably all by myself. My granny used to make me a Victoria Sponge when I was little. I would LOVE one’.
So this morning I made one for us and one for Peter.
