Feeding station
I went to the allotment early-ish (successfully avoiding the tiny persons in the neighbour's plot), watered everything, resisted picking one asparagus spear, and fed the blighters. There were no other humans about on site so the fat bastards were boldly lumbering about on various plots - and one came and sat in the bush above the feeder, staring down at the sparrows. Of course it can't get at any of the seed in the feeder (apart from and that's spilled on the ground) because it's so fat!
Have seen some very enjoyable footage of wildlife taking advantage of the absence of humans - e.g. bears in Yosemite, goats in Llangollen and even a badger in Sheffield train station. Persevere, Meles meles.
