Rustic Gate
Our latest daily walk takes us up towards Pohara. It's a decent walk and Esme likes it as we pass lots of teddies, and she knows exactly when they are coming up. We did this today as part of grandies' daycare and I admired this old gate, done in traditional style as practiced by the first white settlers. I know this as there's a similar example outside the museum with a label. Other activities have included putting stones in pots and lid screwing, some rainbow drawing and sneaky picking polystyrene balls out of a beanbag- not so good.
Today we should have started our journey home but have credits from all airlines. Our poor car is stuck in an underground carpark in Dublin but we had a nice email from the hotel telling us not to worry and no extra charges will be incurred. Now we just have to get the hire car back over the Hill to Nelson, maybe next week. I reckon were here for a good couple of months yet! No hardship.
