Drinking fountain

A very busy day today, leaving little time for music or pictures - but I have enjoyed the sense of purpose.

I did give a first listen to an album by, appropriately, The Blossoms - Cool Like You on which my favourite track was Unfaithful.

I quickly read about The Music Party by Antoine Watteau (c1718) which shows a group of mostly young people in the garden of a chateau at Montmorency, near Paris.  They are listening to music being played on an odd, and no longer used, instrument called a theorbo, which is a sort of bass lute. They were enormously difficult to play and to tune. The musician seems to be wrestling with it and may be trying to tune it rather than to play it.
