Wound up in Wexford

Magnolia

Our yellow magnolia always flowers a little later than the general magnolia trees one sees around.  It doesn't open the flowers until after the leaves.  The flowers look good against the glorious blue sky, but it's difficult to get a view that isn't cluttered by leaves either in the foreground or in the background.  The dark pink one is also flowering now, a blip may follow.

The wind is much less today, though what there is is still a bit chilly.  Our alpines have been delivered, and are now sitting on the trolley, awaiting the completion of the bed - which basically just needs some suitable soil.  We're not short of soil - we have piles in various corners of the garden from when we have dug out flower beds - but it all needs sieving to remove the large pebbles, pieces of glass and other rubble.  After our exercise session, I went shopping, leaving W to do some soil sifting on his own, but by the time I returned (no flour or baking powder!) and we'd had a bite to eat, neither of us felt inclined to spend more time on that.

W went to have fun in his workshop, and I had fun playing my flute, putting into practice some stuff I learnt in my lesson on Monday.
