Blue Butterfly
Two coats on two more fence panels today. It was a lot warmer and I saw a couple of butterflies - I tried to photograph the Orange Tip but it wouldn't settle. A hot and sunny day is forecast for tomorrow so I'm taking a day off to relax.
Day 38 / Day 30 of Lockdown (for my record only)
UK deaths up 763 to 18,100 and provisional ONS figures show over 1,000 additional care home deaths in England over 5 days to 15/4 which doubled the previous no. Prof Chris Whitty again stressed that the full number of deaths (both direct and indirect) will only be known when we look at total seasonally adjusted deaths over time. Italy up 437 to 25,085, Spain up 435 to 21,717.
Govt sits virtually for PMQs for the first time. The daily briefing included the Chief of Defence Staff who talked about the single greatest logistics challenge faced by the armed forces in their work supporting the NHS on the fight against Covid-19. A new graph showed 7 day rolling death no's by country which shows the slow decrease in Spain and Italy which we should also expect. Strategy has appeared to shift now to avoiding a 2nd spike in the virus, so expect some form of social distancing for the rest of the year.
