A sort of sunny day
The weather hasn't been warm in northeast Ohio this week. We can probably place the blame on the cool air that comes off Lake Erie. However, the birds apparently are beginning to sense a difference, and they are more active. Today's blip is either a downy or a hairy woodpecker. For me, it is hard to distinguish the two. I know the hairy is larger with a longer bill, but unless they are side-by-side, I'm stuck on the ID. Maybe one of you can clarify it for me. If so, please do.
