Starting a structure

While the paint is drying on the fascia, and before I can add labels etc. I thought I would start the Dolores station model. It is a Banta kit, and consists of all the wood etc you need to build the station. The photo shows the base frame onto which I will glue siding, doors and windows, and finally a very complicated roof. I put it in place just to check clearances (OK) and to measure for its base - a wooden platform made of individual boards. Since I model 1950 the station will get a heavy dose of weathering as that was the end of the RGS time.
