Seeing Beyond Looking

Dearly-loved Lilac

"White May is flowering,
Red May beside;
Laburnum is showering
Gold far and wide;
But I sing of Lilac,
The dearly-loved Lilac,
Lilac, in Maytime
A joy and a pride!
I love her so much
That I never can tell
If she’s sweeter to look at,
Or sweeter to smell."

by Cicely Mary Barker.

This morning I followed the sweet scent of the lilac and at last managed to capture some as it was just light enough, though the sharpness of the end result is difficult to see with the lack of ambient lighting!
I thought this poem was perfect for today's capture.

Updates on Coronavirus in Switzerland:
Although the number of new cases and deaths have dwindled, the Swiss Confederation has postponed the opening of other shops until May 11th.
A wise decision.
Our health minister, Mr. Alain Berset, is now famous for having said:
"We'll go as fast as we can, but as slow as is needed."

Listening to the International News this morning, I heard Dr Anthony Stephen Fauci  who is an American physician, immunologist and leading expert on infectious diseases who has served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984. He is convinced that a second, more deadly, wave of Covid-19 will arise this autumn, especially if countries come out of confinement too soon.
