Belleisle Estate

This used to be a beautiful Mansion House turned hotel. It was very popular for weddings and big functions. Sadly there has been a dispute with the local council and the last private owner.
Just about the day the council were to take it back the owner was ' doing a roof repair' and the place went up in fire. Was there a grudge? Terrible destruction.
The grounds have 2 municipal golf courses which are now free to roam and although I used to play on the easy one I got a bit disorientated coming back.
I walked a bit with a friend and she pointed out the old tree to me. It has had golf clubs carved into the branches. I would have walked past it. Then as I approached the fairly new club house, again lots of controversy over it, I noticed the golfer carved into another tree.
Good to be out and meet a friend. We kept our distance.
