'Art Deco short for Arts Décoratifs, is characterised by rich colours, bold geometry, and decadent detail work. Having reached the height of its popularity in the 1920s, '30s, and '40s, the style still brings in glamour, luxury, and order with symmetrical designs in exuberant shapes'.

I wonder who had the idea to plant those cherry trees to complement the arches of the Turbine Hall at the Tongland Water Power Station when it was built in 1935? 

The cherry trees are in full blossom at the moment and looking particularly splendid …………………..
