Lockdown Day 31 - From the Pub Car Park

Sunrise is now before 6:00 am in this part of the country so capturing it is reliant on waking early, which was the case today.  Plenty of high cirrus cloud around which allowed the light from the sun, still below the horizon, to create this lovely soft light.  I just managed to get to the edge of the estate in time to capture the scene.

Then it was off to the supermarket for the weekly shop.  Most items seem to be back in stock, save for one or two tinned products and anti-bacterial spray (though how this helps with a virus is beyond me).  Still there must be some very clean homes in the area.

I had to visit the GP's surgery for some tests, which was quite bizarre as they literally bar you from getting into the building, meeting you at the front door in full PPE.  Still it was good that they are still providing treatment.  I took a circuitous route back, through an area called Blakenhall Heath, though there is little evidence of the heathland that probably contributed to its name.  I hadn't been through the area for almost 40 years, when we used to play cricket against the local team in the park.  There was no evidence of the cricket pitch that used to be there.

We finished the day with a short ride on the tandem around the local countryside; a first this year.  And of course we joined in with the weekly clap for heroes.

Day Miles: 5.1 miles Total miles: 520.1 miles
