The Japanese Maple Again
This little tree goes on giving me pleasure with its brilliant colour.
Today has been the busiest fantail-wise. Much of the day there was at least one of the noisy wee birds inside. My son and I were treated to two breathtaking displays. Two of them played chasing in the livingroom, flying very close together with many sharp direction changes in unison. They moved like a shoal of fish.
Then a blowfly came in when there was one fantail present. The bird gave chase. The fly responded with a speeded up erratic flight path, which the fantail followed closely. The fly was cornered at the edge of the ceiling, but then the fantail let it go free. I think the fly was too big for it.
