ACER

This is the time of year when Acers' are at their very best. The morning sun shining down on this tree, hidden at the end of a garden that sits alongside a stopped up old road caught my eye this morning.

Sometimes referred to as a Japanese Acer, they're actually all part of the Maple family of trees. All have a sweet sap, those growing in Canada are tapped to create Maple Syrup (you need about 40 litres of sap to make a litre of Syrup). All Acers produce a sap, the vast majority in very insignificant quantities..
