Abstract Thursday ....
..... flora.
This is indeed flora .... any guesses?
Richard had taken today off as well as yesterday and this afternoon we went over to Costco to do some shopping. Of course we wore our masks and it was good to see that everyone else did as well.
I'm trying not to worry too much about the coronavirus but each time I go out shopping I get exceedingly nervous. As soon as we got back in the car I wiped down everything ... hands, phone, etc. ... with the disinfecting wipes we keep in the car. And immediately washed my hands when we got home and the groceries were put away.
However I am not stripping down and throwing my clothes in the washer as the "experts" are saying it really isn't necessary to do. The virus would likely survive better on artificial fibers such as polyester than on cotton ... which is what I wear most of the time. Jeans are my thing! It's probably a good practice if you have or live with someone with an autoimmune issue.
COVID-19 by the numbers (as of 12:45 PM today 4/23/20):
Positive cases in Pennsylvania - 37,053 (an increase of 1,369)
Negative cases in Pennsylvania - 142,061
Number of deaths in Pennsylvania 1,421 - (an decrease of 201**)
Cases in Northampton County - 1,656 (45 deaths)
** The decrease in PA deaths is due to its inclusion of probable cases in the death count earlier this week. These cases were removed from the count in the interest of transparency according to Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine. Source: The Express Times
