The Quail Family

A couple of days ago, I saw my first little puff balls.  Today I got mama with her triplets huddled in the shade.   Honestly, baby Gambel's quail are just about the cutest things I've ever seen. Try viewing in large.

I had to go out today.  First I headed to the post office to mail the beneficiary checks.  Then I took a spin to Madera Canyon.  The Santa Rita Lodge is planning to celebrate their 100th anniversary in 2021.  Word got out that they could be closing for good in a week if they didn't get help. 
I don't have to explain to many of you (especially the dozen or so blippers who have been there) what an amazing place it is and how much it means to me.  So I dropped off a donation to the owner.  He's still waiting to hear about his small business loan from our inept corrupt Treasury Dept.  

Had to turn on the A/C for the first time today.  I don't mind the heat. I just like to get acclimated more slowly.  We went from 83°/28° two day ago to 95°/35° today.  Got home, took a cool shower and made a fresh bed.  Will be sleeping well tonight.

Is anyone else getting a sunburn from the refrigerator light?
