Anzac Day
With the usual Anzac Day commemorations cancelled due to Covid-19 this year we were asked to "light up the dawn" by standing in our driveways at 6am with a candle to remember our service men and women. No one would have been able to see ours deep in the valley but we joined in anyway.
I do confess to staying in bed first to watch the official service in Canberra attended by just the Governor General, Prime Minister and a few other dignitaries.
I can't help thinking of these words which are going around at present:
Your grandparents were called to war.
You're being called to sit on your couch.
You can do this.
