Thursday thanks
Every Thursday evening, after the "clap for carers" at 8pm...Guildford cathedral lights up the outside in blue, which can be seen for miles around.
So, when Mr A and I toddled around for our "permitted exercise" today, we spotted the lighting engineers getting all the spotlights & cabling ready for the evening display. To be honest, I was surprised to see this...innocently I just assumed that they put some sort of coloured filter in front of the normal lights for the blue sessions on Thursday (usually from around 9pm, according to one of the lighting chaps). But no, it seems they trail metres of heavy duty cabling and huge spotlights around the cathedral. And to think - they do this each week, since the lights & cables are not there at any other time.
Extra photos show some of the lighting gear being laid out in readiness.
Clap for our carers every Thursday at 8pm.
Doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, emergency services, armed services, delivery drivers, porters, shop workers, teachers, waste collectors, manufacturers, postal workers, cleaners, vets, engineers and all those who are out there making an unbelievable difference to our lives in these challenging times...bravo, you are amazing!
