SuperTramp

Stand and Stare' is a tall bronze sculpture of a spirit enshrined within the body of the tree of life. It is a visually dramatic memorial of Newport's 'Supertramp' poet, W.H. Davies (1871-1940) whose poem Leisure contains the famous lines: "What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare". Dissatisfied with life as an apprentice in Newport, he left to travel the world as a casual labourer.

Not many people stopping to stare with COVID-19 UK lockdown but this pigeon had time for a walk!

Camera:     Olympus XA4 (1985) with Zuiko 28mm F3.5 lens
