Mystery revealed!
My mum gave me these plants a year or so ago, saying that Auntie Brenda had given them to her, but mum couldn't remember what they were! Well the mystery is now revealed to be a rather lovely pale pink foxglove! The main stem has eight surrounding flower stems, but in the extras, the second plant only has one flower stem! This one is planted rather artistically next to the drainpipe!
Also in the extras, all the peonies are now in flower!
It was very hot and sunny today, the promised rain didn't arrive this weekend but is forecast for every day starting tomorrow (if it doesn't change!) I weeded the borders all day, gave the herb bed a haircut, transplanted a few seedlings, and stopped with Mr F for a chat with our GP and his wife who drove past.
I had put a chicken in the oven in a Le Creuset pot to cook slowly, and afterwards we had a few cherries from last summer which I had marinated in brandy and sugar, with some creme fraiche as we had no ice cream.
