When Town Planners Get Bored

The street lighting along Leytonstone High Road is mostly sober, sensible and ordinary. They cleaned it up for the Olympics, at the same time as they replaced the pavements with, well, pavements with fewer cracks in, but it lights the streets and that's about all.

Except under the railway bridge, where whichever town planner was responsible for that section had clearly been caning it a bit too hard the night before, because they installed, as you can see, a disco.

Pretty, certainty, but to get the best effect, you'd have to dodge the buses in the middle of the road.
