Pink Bluebells
I spotted these delightful pink / purple bluebell on my walk this morning. Another gloriously sunny and warm day - looks like the last one for a while with some much needed rain due next week.
Day 42 / Day 34 of Full Lockdown (for my record only)
UK deaths up 413 to 20,732 (beware low numbers reported on Sun & Mon), Italy up 260 to 26,644, Spain up 288 to 23,190 (kids in Spain can now go out for 1 hr a day after a 6 week lockdown). After the backlash on his 'injecting disinfectant' suggestion, Trump didn't attend his daily briefing yesterday as it's 'not worth the time and effort'.
The shielded have had 500,000 food parcels delivered to them and the supermarkets have 300,000 prioritised delivery slots for them. Supermarket delivery slots are up from 2.1M to 2.6M and will grow to 2.9M in the next two weeks.
The WHO conditions for coming out of lockdown include that 'Health systems are able to 'detect, test, isolate and treat every case and trace every contact'. This is not one of the 5 conditions the govt have set before lockdown can be eased. There were 29,000 tests undertaken yesterday, far short of the 100,000 promised by the end of the month in 4 days. With the PM returning to work tomorrow, I wonder if any ministers will be sacked or 'given a chance to take a break' this week.
