Former crossing point and dog homage
A busier and purposeful day today starting with a circular walk in Pollok Park where I blipped the remains of an old suspension bridge. I also took the opportunity to blip the wood sculpture of the dog at the entrance to their base in the park, with its moving inscription which made me feel somewhat maudlin as I walked home, and no kingfishers either even though it was still quite early in the day.
After coffee I made some banana muffins and chocolate chip shortbread, mainly for Lorne's birthday which is tomorrow. I must say the shortbread was delicious and I was tempted to sample more than just one piece. After lunch which consisted of a boiled egg (omelette for Robert) I got out the polymer clay and made a few bits and pieces for Lorne.
In summary a much more purposeful and focussed day with two outings, who is going to notice, the second to take the birthday offerings round to Lorne who I saw briefly along with the still collarless Islay.
News marginally better with the PM indicating we are nearing the end of the first stage, and all the enhanced risk and danger that goes with that.
I should also a note about the remains of the suspension bridge - it was demolished shortly after the second world war and now consists of what is left of the concrete plinth and steel stanchions. Probably get a better view in the winter when its less obscured by the unfurling foliage.
