Baking Bread
I managed to buy some wholemeal bread flour a couple of weeks ago but couldn’t buy any yeast.
A very kind friend from London sent me some in the post today, so I had a go at baking a loaf this afternoon. I used a recipe from an old Delia book and it was actually very easy - no kneading or knocking back, just left to prove for 30 mins and then stuck in the oven.
It tasted pretty good, especially warm with butter. It wasn’t a very big loaf and after five of us had tried it, there wasn’t a lot left so I’ll have to make another one pretty quickly!
